Text Box: Brothers At Vimy Ridge
Tells the story of two young boys, Eddie and Arthur Farmer, brought up in a Dr Barnardo Orphanage in the East End of London, England.  They immigrate to Canada and are separated on their arrival in Halifax. They continue to grow up in different Provinces of Canada and as Britain and France struggle to conquer the German army in the First World War , both Eddie and Arthur decide to join the fight.
The story tells of Eddie’s constant struggle to contact his brother during his military training and how eventually the two brothers are reunited in the trenches just prior to the Battle for Vimy Ridge. Arthur and Eddie advance on the ridge together at the beginning of the battle, but Eddie is wounded by German gunfire, Arthur tends to Eddie’s injuries and continues with the advance only to hear another shot that fatally wounds his brother.
The sections in the story referring to the Battle of Vimy Ridge are true and also recorded in in historical publications such as ‘Far From Home-Canadians in the First World War’ and ‘Vimy Ridge’ an historical recording by the CBC (Canadian Broadcasting Corporation)
